Smyrna is a hip and fast-growing city located within the inner ring of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. This accessible city is just one mile northwest of Atlanta’s city limits and within ten miles of Downtown Atlanta. A diverse city with many trendy local businesses, Smyrna is home to the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park and the BatteryATL shopping, dining, and entertainment district surrounding the ballpark. With diverse retailers and restaurants dotted all over Smyrna, homes here are within easy reach of great places to shop and eat. Rev Coffee Roasters on Spring Road serves fresh-roasted coffee in a funky converted garage with regular live music performances. Located on Concord Road, Wade’s is a local favorite with a rooftop bar and outdoor patio. Their menu includes creative twists on classic sandwiches as well as mouthwatering burgers, hearty sides, and innovative cocktails. At the Concord Corners strip mall on Concord Road, Mariscos Las Islitas serves authentic Mexican seafood dishes. Neighbors Feed & Seed Supply Co. is stocked with all kinds of animal feed, seeds, and specialty items. Around Truist Park, BatteryATL has dozens of boutiques, beauty services, and chef-driven restaurants. Highlights here include premier men’s salon Van Michael Men and lively sports-themed eatery Murph’s. Atlanta Braves fans flock to Murph’s before and after games to dine on gourmet pub grub eats such as half-pound burgers, jumbo chicken wings, buffalo shrimp, and mini crab kickers. Smyrna Market Village is a mixed-use development with stylish modern condominiums and townhouses surrounded by shops and restaurants. Standouts here include Atkins Park Tavern for New Orleans cuisine and craft beer served in an elegant wood-paneled bar and dining room. Yoly’z Salon of Vinings is an award-winning hair salon on Atlanta Road offering outstanding service from highly-skilled stylists. Another commercial area along S Cobb Drive has businesses such as casual breakfast and lunch spot Atlanta Bread.

Things to Do

Truist Park is the state-of-the-art home of Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves. Since its grand opening in 2017, Truist Park has also hosted concerts from major acts such as Metallica, Billy Joel, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, Def Leppard, and Mötley Crüe. Other Smyrna sports facilities include the 18-hole public golf course and driving range at Fox Creek Golf Club. Burger Park is a fenced-in off-leash dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. Smyrna is also known as Jonquil City for the beautiful yellow flowers that bloom in large numbers each spring. The end of jonquil season is marked each year with the Fall Jonquil Festival in late October. This event is held on the village green close to Smyrna Market Village and features more than 125 arts and crafts booths, food vendors, live music, and kids’ activities, including puppet shows and costume contests. Smyrna History Museum features fascinating and kid-friendly exhibits on the city’s history in a replica of the original 1910 Smyrna Train Depot. The Silver Comet Trail follows the old Seaboard Air Line Railroad path from Smyrna to Georgia’s state border with Alabama. It then connects with Alabama’s Chief Ladiga Trail to create a continuous 94-mile trail, making it the second-longest rail-trail in the entire United States. Each Saturday morning between May and September, Smyrna Fresh Produce Market hosts vendors selling lots of locally-grown fruits and veggies.
